Awards rain on the Hungarian Public Television
In 2006 the MTV has received more professional acknowledgement than ever before.
43 national and international corporation awards were distributed to the employees of the Hungarian Public Television. On the 50th anniversary of MTV due to their exceptional performance proved that MTV provides a quality service to the public.
Popular programs, well-known corporation employees and corporation employees not in the spotlight won laurels for the Hungarian Public Television celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2007.
Among the known employees in 2006 for example the creators of the program called ’Bestseller and Drum+Bass’ branded by Balázs Révai scored full marks at the Camera Hungary Television Program Festival. The Camera Hungary was an award wind full for the MTV distributing a total of 7 awards. The XI.th International Media Festival’s ‘Journalist of the Year’ award recognized the contribution of László Benda, where 600 films were competing. Whilst the Foreign Policy Affairs Editorial Office received a Certificate of Merit from the Council of Geopolitics, whose members are acknowledged international scientists and public figures.
László Juszt, the editor and presenter of the weekly legal magazine called the ‘Solicitor of the Television’ was given a ’János Déri Award’. The Hungarian Sportwriters Federation distributed a ‘Lifework Award’ to Tamás Vitray. György Rózsa’s 40 years television career was recognized by the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.
The Hungarian President awarded to the former corporation employee, István Gyulai who died at the age of 63 the posthumous State Certificate of Merit. György Czigány and Judit Osskó received the notable ’Prima Primissima Awards’. Pál Sipos, the Chief Editor for Education and Culture was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for his contribution to the ‘Big Book’ production.
In 2006 the crew of MTV was reporting from the Turin Winter Olympics, the Pentathlon European Championship, the European Swimming Championship and from the Flatwater Racing World Championship in Szeged.
Several national and international forums recognized the contribution of the MTV employees’. Chief Editor, Csaba Schulek received the ’Nívó Prize’ from the Hungarian Olympic Committee for the popularisation of the Olympic dream.
In December the Hungarian Sportwriters Federation (MsúSz) awarded the ‘Lifework Award’ to Tamás Gábor, and the ’Feleky Award’ to the reporter, Péter Deák Horváth. Both of them are corporation employees of the Telesport program. The MsúSz has also given an ’Nívó Prize’ to the creators of the film called ’Started as Olympics’. A
mong the less-known corporation employees Lilla Maya, one of the youngest correspondents received the Bronze Order of Merit from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Water Management. Lilla Maya, who stood her ground day and night at the River Tisza and the Triple-Körös for 17 days and was broadcasting live said: ’the merit is also for at least 10 other colleagues of mine, because they would also deserve it as much as I do.’
Zoltán Rudi, the President of MTV has received this year the ’Thank You and Gratitude Prize’ from the Hungarian Sportwriters Federation for the sport broadcastings of 2006, and he also emphasized the importance of team work.
An excellent journalist creative community works in this institute, and the awards are proving that the MTV celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year provides a quality service to the public, added Zoltán Rudi.
