Magyar Televízió is The Media Supporter of the Year
The prize, established by the Hungarian Festival Association, has been awarded on the basis of recommendations from the member organisations. The festival organisers decided that the Magyar Televízió (MTV) was the leading promoter of tourist and cultural events in Hungary in 2008
At its assembly held in Pécs today, The Hungarian Festival Association handed out certificates in five categories. The member organisations judged that the first Media Supporter of the Year prize goes to Magyar Televízió for taking a leading role in the presentation of domestic tourist and cultural events.
“It is only natural that public service programmes give accounts of festivals and other programmes that promote and preserve diversity and provide opportunity for active recreation” – said Péter Schatz, MTV’s Business and Product Development Director. “Our promotion activities are based on principles that allow us to support major tourist and cultural events through offering favourable terms for advertisements and public service commercials”.
This year Magyar Televízió sponsored close to 50 prestigious events, and also contributed to the success of 27 festivals and 15 classical and pop concerts.
MTV has made continuous efforts to raise public awareness of the programmes offered by internationally renowned Hungarian institutions, as well as events promoting a healthy life style and sports.
